OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOnce upon a time there was a little girl who loved the sweets sooooo much that hardly ate anything else… wake up to have a sweet brownie breakfast just to have enough energy to carry on till a huge-icecream lunch which was enough till the cheesecake-dinner… go to bed with happyness and smiling all night while dreaming about doughnuts and choc-chip peanut&butter cookies…

Thinking a lot about several dessert recipes in my life and i needed to realize: everything is better with a couple of shots!!!!!

So after started the brainstorming and collecting our favorite dessert from the childhood and set a 5***** carta again… the top winners are:

TIRAMISU — BROWNIE — CHEESECAKE — TARTE TATIN — CARROT CAKE

So ideally its really nice – but the hard work just started in that point when i decided to make real cocktails not smoothies or shakes with much more thicker texture… it seems just too easy to blend a couple of shots with a piece of cake together… lets start the extracting-infusing-filtering-concentrating project…. unfortunately i dont have proper chemistry laboratorium to make destillations and so – forgive me. But i try my best…

Lets start the whole thing in the same way how i would start baking a cake… with a cake base. I did find lots of funny flavored alcohols (cotton candy, cookie dough, root beer, bubble etc etc) on the internet – so this thing is already exist, no surprise. The only problem is to get these drinks… most of them unfortunatley sitting just in american shop’s shelving – so the price is just horrible… I intended to get one, but it can wait. I jumped in the middle and made my own stuff. Lets see how did it turn up.

  1. Nutella vodka (rich creamy, nut&cacao, 7/10)
  2. Biscuit vodka (caramel, spices, 9/10)
  3. Peanut butter whiskey (deep nuttyness, 8/10)
  4. Cookie dough vodka (floury, weak, 5/10)
  5. Double choc tart malt whisky (rich chocolaty, 7/10)
  6. Cheese vodka (last minute idea, surprisingly 8/10)

Tiramisu: coffee cream base with a mix of amaretto & yolk, seasoned with the crazy cheese vodka and drops of tia maria. This would be a really nice but a little bit boring coffee coctail – without my crazy cheesy vodka which gives saltiness next to a real sweet amaretto. Nice touch a bit of coffee powder on the top and a biscuit decoration for dipping.

Brownie: cacao-colaOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA base with a marriage of peanut butter whiskey and nutella vodka, spoonful of southern comfort, vanilla with a sprinkle of fleur de sel). I wanted this soooo much… and was a bit disappointed. The reason is clear. We love brownie cause its heavy full with butter and sugar… i am sure i would get more impressive result if im happy with a thicker result… like a shake or a smoothie… but because i insisted the 100% liquid… i made a nice sweet choc coctail… Too sweet for my mouth though – definitely need to serve ice cold. Fizzy for the coke, cakey cause of the nutella vodka and the vanilla with a beautiful peanut butter whiskey – hint at the background.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERACheesecake: in this case the base had to be a tiny bit thicker so i shaked some condensed milk with the cheesy vodka. Followed by a layer of strawberry syrup and the top with creamy biscuit vodka (up side down) flavoured with lemon zest and vanilla. This coctail is the heaviest of all, so u really need to serve it just in a shot-glass, ice cold.

Tarte tatin: cider&apple schnapps base, flavoured with cinnamon syrup, vanilla, lemon and the ass kicker caramelized leche dulce blend with cookie dought vodka). This is my special favourite coctail, i really made it. The cider gives a sparkling freshness while the schnapps a real apple flavour dressed up with vanilla and lemon. The deep cake flavour comes from the cookie-dough vodka mixed with a creamy caramelized dulce leche. Just beautiful creation.

Carrot cake: carrotjuice&ginger beer base, flavoured with southern comfort, cointreau, cinnamon liquor and my caramelized biscuit vodka. The hardest part was to get carrot juice – i couldnt find anywhere so finally i made myself. Tried the macerating technic, grated the carrots really finely after cured with lime juice and icing sugar for a couple of minutes… i was surprised how much juice i could get out and was already seasoned pushing the bitterness at the background… This was ideal with the sparkling gingerbeer – sweet enough to balance the acidity with southern comfort and orange liquor… the ‘sponge’ part was the genius biscuit vodka. Nice and fresh drink, like a holiday breakfast… :)

Conclusion? I had a good play for a month. :) Now lets go and drink a simple mojito… :)
